Monsters

Ariya,

Yesterday, a brave group of heroes slayed a real life monster. He looked just like any person, but unlike most people, his heart was full of hatred and not love. It is hard to explain why, because it is sad to think that hatred can have so much power over anybody, but I will try.

This man was named Osama, and he did very bad things because he believed that it was what God wanted. Really, it is not what God would want, but only what Osama wanted.

People will do all kinds of things and say that it is God's will because our ideas of God are only reflections of what is in our own hearts. If a person is happy and loving, he will believe that God is happy and loving too. But if that person is angry and hateful, then he will believe that God is angry and hateful too.

Somehow, people begin to believe that if God made man in his own image, then they must be a reflection of God, instead of realizing that they are really trying to reflect themselves on God. We must always do our best to have as much happiness and love in our hearts as possible.

Osama hated everyone who was not like him, so he believed that God must hate them too. He did awful things to hurt and kill people all over the world.

Today in America, people are celebrating because the heroes were victorious in their battle against this monster. We are not celebrating the fact that he is dead, and we are not celebrating revenge. It is not right to celebrate the death of any person or animal. We are celebrating instead because this monster can never hurt anyone ever again. And I am celebrating because you will be born into a world with one less monster, and the world will be a little more beautiful when you open your eyes.

Love,
Daddy
